Hi guys

Can anyone steer me towards some pics (close ups) for an LH Torana?  I'm in the process of cutting out much rust out of my LH. But I ran into a little hurdle. Up under the bonnet (the front corners, both N/S & O/S, where the top radiator support panel meets both front fender skirts) there is substantial corrosion there whereby the original shape/contour can no longer be identified. Evidently I cannot fabricate replacement pieces for these areas because I don't know how exactly the original OEM shape/contour even looks like. Presently there are large rust holes in these areas. I can probably fabricate some replacement pieces to my specifications but I'd like to keep it original. I thought some pics (preferably on a Torana with the front guards/fenders removed) would give me some indication on the specific shape/contour I need to follow/copy.

Hi Chris - I would visit the build threads should be plenty of pic's there
Or
If you can find a build in the right stages ask the fella via PM to send some shots of the specific area you need

Thanks m8. I'm still trying to acquaint myself with these forums. However, navigating through all the different options,  I'm thinking starting a new thread under "fabrication" may be better suited to my particular needs?

Just do a google image search for lx torana radiator support. Plenty if pics from all angles.

Show photos of the bits you need to make. I have half a rad sopport i chopped off my lx in pieces. I may have some bits you want.

Best I can come up with is in PDF.  Other options I tried returned - file too big, Or along those lines.

 

There's probably a better option, But I can't figure it out

Wow i don't think ive ever seen a torana rust there. Ill grt some pics of the bits i have to see if they are of use to you.

Great. it's a start. As best as I can make out, It looks like the inner fender skirt continues on over the top section of the radiator support. It gets the ball rolling though.

This pic at bottom right corner although it has cut off the very edge, might be of some use too.

 

Also, Hanra's build thread for his black LH SL/R 5000 on here would be where I'd have a look for some good details pics. I used it a lot as reference for my car's build.

Yes, correct. It's on the top.  The second lot of pics that Liz put across show a better view of the orientation of the adjoining panels

It was a bit hard to tell looking at the first pic.
