LJ Correct speedo cable route

Hi all
Just checking someone can share a diagram showing the correct LJ speedo cable route?

Hi Ben not sure if LC the same but put it this way you don't get it right you will be buying a few as i did as i wasn't sure what way it went either and broke a few.

Has to go thru this from memory and out a hole at end.
Some will correct me if i'm wrong

That's correct. The speedo cable is routed down through that hole in the steering column support. At the instrument panel end ensure the speedo cable runs between the plenum panel and/or windscreen demister plastic air duct and the main wiring harness.

Great info guys thanks. I have a broken cable to replace, its been routed around the column support which probably explains the break. Thanks again.

Ok many thanks! I get why the short cut was taken around the column. I did one around 20 years ago so a bit vague now but was pretty sure it went through the column support, but I seem to think I put it through from the firewall side and up through the column support to the dash though. Are you saying feed from top (dash end) down through firewall to gearbox is the best way?

Can only be installed one way because of the firewall grommet pre-installed on the cable and that is from the engine bay through the firewall  and up through the hole in the column support.
