COMMODORE HUBS LX TORANA

I want to change the front of my torana to run an ap caliper set up.
I have hq stubs.
What hubs do I need to do so? I have seen crs have this kit. Will it work?
https://www.rodshop....ly-holdens.html
Ap 5200 front Calipers. I would have to make a bracket to mount them.
Thanks in advance
Also what disc can I run? Dba 5046?
Dba5046 is 328mm I’d much rather have a smaller size such as 300mm if there is one that suits the caliper?
Thanks

Yes that hub is the one
Usually DBA046
If you use the DBA040 rotor you might find the caliper a little too close to things
But its try and see
I have fitted the 5200 calipers to a Mustang on the 040 rotors before
You'll have to make your own brackets up one way or the other
Make up a template first... to see if the setup will clear the wheels you plan to run
Then dummy fit the caliper up on a bracket ... use wooden block so you can shape it as needed
Make sure you use a brand new disc so your calculations are accurate

What about king pin inclination? Will you be able to get correct camber set with the HQ stubs?

Thanks mate do you know what sizes they are? I can’t find the sizes listed when I search those part numbers.
That template is perfect thank you
I have two sets of wheels to try. One is Simmons p86 15inch and the other is roh chicanes 17inch

DBA046 are 328 x 28.
Pic of assembled caliper is the 2 piece version of that.
DBA also do a 4046B which has the correct center hole size for those hubs
DBA040 is is VT-VZ 296mm disc

I thought AP had dropped the CP5200 caliper though... but if you already have them... or can source... they are a great caliper
I've been thinking of getting these English knockoffs (probably come out of same factory)
I believe they are dimensionally same as CP5200
A forum member here Big Dan bought some... but looks like he's not proceeding with his project as he has them up on facebook marketplace atm with some 2 piece 328mm discs too.

Cool, just bought some 15x7 and 15x8 in them. I’ll probably convert the 8’s back to 15x6 though. Those look heaps wider than mine.

These are 15x8 and 15x12 great wheel and have more clearance for brakes than the v5Cool, just bought some 15x7 and 15x8 in them. I’ll probably convert the 8’s back to 15x6 though. Those look heaps wider than mine.
Thanks Dattoman I appreciate the links and help. Would you happen to have a link to his sale ad?

Your bolt ends stick further through than mine too. Mine are 287mm x 28mm thick AUII-III. The problem is the rotor height is only 65mm, only the front edge of the caliper hits the bolt ends. Heaps of clearance to the rim from the caliper. Will get some proper hubcentric spacers 8mm thick made that sit on the Ford hub and the Simmons rim sits snug on the spacer outer.

HQ and LC UC steering knuckle stub axle are different geometrically. The angle between top and bottom ball joint and axle are about 2 1/2 degrees different, resulting in different wheel camber, the amount the wheel leans over from vertical to allow for cornering force on the inside wheel. What about king pin inclination? Will you be able to get correct camber set with the HQ stubs?

If it is bent and/or you have the uca mounted high you likely will run into alignment issues where there is too much neg camber.

Torana used HK-WB stubs. They were standard on L34 and A9X and align fine. I have used them on LH front end and UC front end and they are fine. Just have to use the appropriate steering arms.
Ok. I think going the other way is more of a problem because it results in zero or positive camber, when Torana stubs are used on HR suspension. Increasing negative camber on a hard cornering car ain’t a bad thing.

I sent a disc and stub axle to McDonald Bros and they made me a bracket to suit a Wilwood caliper, I think they could do the same for a different disc/caliper combo
Thanks mate
