Prices are not that horrific compared to other similar sports. I know a guy who spends more than that on just a 35 foot boat.

Interesting.....imagine laying by the pool with a cold beer, dozing off in the sun, as some dude in his triple Rotor 120db loud Sports Sedan does 100 practice/setup laps. Oh, the serenity.

You don't know what life's all about until you've done 200mph with dementia.

I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather. Not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car that day.

kind of a good idea. but what locals would go to start with?
Don't see many speedy cars on the roads out there. It's Landcruser, Hilux, Commodore country.
W.A. could really use an international standard track. So much space. such good weather for it. cheap petrol to burn it on!
Barbagallo is really good - it feels like Brands Hatch in U.K. but with the above benefits but it's the only track in town.
I went to bike day last year and got a spot in easy so don't think there's too much interest. They do the cruise west days which would be just right for the car.
The track layout looks drag strip straight boring. Guess it would come with a 60kmh limit road with all those urban zone light posts, trees, buildings right on it.
Also for sure that there will be too much opposition - Australians like rules far too much and to say no to stuff waaaaaaaaaaaay to much.

Don't forget the collie track. It is booked out every weekend of the year.

Just another country club
I wouldn't want to be a member of a club that would have me as a member
Now if it was really a retirement home... sign me up

that was me being lazy not mentioning. i haven't been there. hope to get on down if i'm ever allowed back into the state. Why so popular that it's booked out or is it more of take it or leave it no other choices reason. that would make sense. i would go just to get out there. it doesn't look like most exciting track ever and was designed by someone who can't turn left or is it right?

did you wash the Caddy at North Perth carwash? next to BP and MCD? There's not a lot around and was walking past a while back and walked past one black mean looking one there sometime last year.

It was designed to carry 120 ton dump trucks to the crusher and central services area at the Western 5 coal mine.
I haven't driven the extension yet either (at least not in its official capacity), but I have been told it is pretty fast.

sounds interesting.
hope i'm allowed back in state and can give it a shot soon.
on the bike - not car.
don't know about how fast it could be but sure it would feel fast- looks like it's one of the smallest tracks out there if it's 1.6km and in the climate.
it would feel super fast and so would only be able to do short times on it having to be full concentration 100% no straights to take a break.

The extension to the track makes it 2.5 kays long. Longer than Wanneroo.
The section inside the pink lines is the new part.

The HDT SLR 5000 was written off on the bottom straight years ago when it was a return road for the old dragstrip.

too much greenery too little road there.
another extension would be good - could easy fit a spa downhill or an aragon straight in there.
hope it's not all flat also.

There is video footage of collie, try youtube or there facebook page.
No it is not flat, they are using the lay of the land.
From the incar i have seen its not as high speed as people think BUT it is more technical than the one left turn wanneroo, still retains some of its original characteristics of original track.
The intention was never to hold supercar events, was for club racing and state level racing.
Haven't been on the new track but here is a mates run on the new layout.
watch to the end of the LS1 :(
He wanted to beat the ford :-o
