I am taking a car into Boyup Brook on the Saturday (10th) to park it up in the old Strapp Motors building for the day. Anyone with a collection in town is opening their doors to let people in and have a look over that weekend, but the cars will all be parked at the old Holden dealership.
I will certainly go for a run to Bunno on Sunday for the museum opening though.

Yep. I went past there yesterday and he has already swapped the cars over in the old showroom. Nice WB Statesman in there now, and the original AB International service truck is out in the yard.

I ended up going back to Boyup Brook for the Sunday. Not as many cars, but a bunch of good blokes to sit back with and chat over a beer. I took the Group A which hadn't been started for a few years. Both heater hoses and the top and bottom radiator hoses split at different times over the weekend. I really need to drive 'em more.

The local John Deere salesman owns this one. Chev body with Ford drivetrain.

The HD is owned by a fellow with a private museum just out of York, and he is moving to Boyup and bringing his collection with him, which will be housed in the building behind the old car yard we were parked in.

The truck in the background is the Rhodes Ridley built in the 60's for moving iron ore. (Rhodes was Lang Hancock's business partner) It had two GM's side by side under the bonnet. Very interesting clutch / gearbox arrangement. Only after it was built did the dept of transport change their minds about allowing it on the roads, so it was never licenced and ended up abandoned in the desert up near Newman.

The black GT is owned by the guy who bought the property. He is keen to get some old Holden signage and do the place up how it looked in the 80's, even though he will be carrying out his mechanics business from here.
His car was owned by his dad, and it was ordered through an influential dealer who ordered the drivetrain in full Phase 3 spec, along with quarter windows in the front doors.

This has been hanging on the wall of the local panel beater for years.

It was a really nice car. One of the judges for the GT Nationals happened to be taking the scenic route home from the Bunbury show and noticed the quarter windows as he drove through an intersection 100 meters away. He turned around and stopped in and didn't leave for an hour and a half. The GT owner pulled out a folder to show this guy the original purchase receipt, and in it was an original Phase 3 supplement workshop manual. We had to pick his eyes up off the ground!! I found it interesting because it had half a dozen pages on the same 780 Holley that is featured in the L34 H.O. supplement, so we have scanned and swapped the pages with each other.
