Be sure to use a good compatible coil.
If you use the Crane HI 6 check out the LX92 coil, from memory it is the one that is compatible with a suppressor so you can at least hear some of your radio.
Personally i would use an MSD 6AL with a Blaster 3 coil for street/strip use, although it doesn't give you the easy option for a 2nd rev limiter (or 2 stage) as the HI 6 does.
Fit new leads, cooler plugs & re-curve the distributor.

MSD A6L is good but I would go for the MSD Digital 6 control box. In the end it's a much neater install if rev limiters and other things are added later one. The Digital 6 has most things you need in the one box.
The Crane Hi6 is also very good as well.
I had a Crane Fireball electronic kit put in my std recurved holen dizzy running of an Accel coil in the Hatch before I replaced it with a full MSD ignition system. Pro Billet Dizzy, Digital 6 control box, Blaster coil and Moroso Ultra 40 race wire leads.
The improvement on the strip was only 0.15 on my ET's.
It all depends on how much you want to spend. MSD is king when it come to spark.

When i first got into cars i ended up fitting a pro comp system to my 308 and when i had noting but problems with it having such a weak spark and needing to change plugs each time i took the car out i took it back.
Only to have SSS tell me im talking crap and my tune is out and carb was way to big (though had no problem on the engine dyno without the pro comp system) and to show me on a spark gauge test bench that it could rev to over 10000rpm (under no load in open air) so after almost getting into a fight i walked away with nothing.
Gave Mike at IC&E a call and he got me sorted with a box, rev limiter, coil and leads and have nothing but good things to say about him and his gear.
So after all that i guess you get what you pay for

I am using a MSD6al BTM (boost timing master) its got a hose running to it that sensores boost pressure. you can then retard the timing or advance it with a twist on the knob its also got two stage limiter. The hi rpm is adjustable from 4600 to 6800rpm. the low rev limiter is adjustable from 1000 two 3000rpm and its also got a msd shift light hooked up to it and line locker so there very versatilePersonally i would use an MSD 6AL with a Blaster 3 coil for street/strip use, although it doesn't give you the easy option for a 2nd rev limiter (or 2 stage) as the HI 6 does.
Fit new leads, cooler plugs & re-curve the distributor.
cheers

Sorry about the thread hi jack but would anyone know how I wire it to the dissy, the dissy has two thin black wires from a pick up from memory, is this were I wire it up and if so does polarity matter?
