Does it mean anything in particular?
I believe its later model box as has the switch on the selector input. Cluster is the 497 so definitely M21 ratio.
Thanks

I have "ZD" recorded as a M20 from an '82 Commodore with an "L36" 4.2L blue motor.
And I have "ZF" listed as a M20 from an '82 Commodore 6 cylinder.
So I'd guess that "ZE" is probably a M21 from the same era 5.0L Commodore?

I have ZE from a VK 134 pack, L31 M21 optioned, so ZE must meant M21 in the V series Holdens

They weren't in alphabetical order though, as ZL is a 1980 M20.

Was that a 6 or a V8 gearbox ?

Maybe the ZD V8 M20 was for Commodore & the ZE V8 M20 was for WB, i.e. different shifters.

Are you part of AHA Terry? There are a few of us compiling gearbox and engine numbers and I will send the list in once it is large enough.
