Got a new set from rare spares. They are black. What's the go in matching them to my chamois interior colour? They could be covered in the chamois vinyl or maybe painted? Plastic aint easy to paint from experience. What have you guys done?

Spray on vinyl dye may get a better result. Just a thought.

I painted some new black plastic retractable seatbelt covers to match interior trim a while ago. Wiped over with adhesion promoter then paint straight on. No issues but no real wear and tear on them.

Plenty of different brands of Plastic Primer spray cans available from auto shops.

Then you will need to get some compatible type paint mixed up to match the chamois vinyl.

My brother had a VK Vacationer wagon in which the centre console was damaged when his young son jumped on it.

He was able to get a brand new console but it had to be colour matched to his interior.

I believe the panel shop that painted it for him just used normal Dulon A type acrylic lacquer primer and top coat.
