Holden (unfortunately) reissued dealer numbers.

So when dealer 575 in Woop-woop closed down, their dealer number would be re-issued to the next dealership opened, but not necessarily in the same town (although a lot of the time when a dealership changed hands the new dealer would just happen to get the old dealer's number).

So, dealership A might have had dealer number 575 between 1965 and 1981, then dealership B might have been issued the same dealer number between 1982 and 1998, and so on.

I really wish they never did this, it would've been so much easier if the dealer number was "grandfathered" with the dealer when they closed/changed-over.

Guessing -  Singleton NSW -  (Not confirmed but best guess Bartrop as Lancaster did not sell GMH between last 60's - rationalisation and 1986 when they got the franchise back)

Country 2 NSW   1962 SINGLETON W. H. BARTROP & SONS Pty Ltd (sold to Heck Finn '79/80) VB Buick H 01/01/1913 01/01/1980 67 Years, 0 Months, 0 Days 43 Johns Street 2330   William  Henry  Bartrop
