Hi, all

Has anyone seen one of these before?

All I know is it’s not a genuine American torque thruster, and there were dozens of brands copying those in the 70’s.
I can’t find any with the same ribbing in behind the spokes

Would love to know if it’ rare or special before I hang it on the wall for the garden hose

The only other clue is what looks like N98 stamped there
and the number 74 with the wee dots

Dunno, but if you are on FB, there are a couple of "Classic Aussie Mag Wheels" type groups who seem to know stuff.

I’ve got a set same I reckon Bruce, 6x14”. From memory 3 1/2” backspace, so zero offset. I do prefer the smooth spoke hustler style.

Never even heard of sankey wheels before and also can’t find a pic of those, Dave
Not on bookface so they won’t let me look, Col
Googling American sites suggests stacks of possible brands, even some Japanese copies back in the day
but none seem to match exactly
Can you get to yours easily Clay to check out the back?

Yes. Back space is actually 4".

I got these from a feller at Pt Pirie. I assume they are locally made. Quite chunky. Unlkely I will use them now as both my cars are ending up with narrow diffs.

There’s so many different patterns of those ribs it’s unbelievable
Sure is an eye opener to discover how many mobs there was making these things
back in the 70’s. Plenty of ‘em around in Aus too.
There must be at least 3 more like it out there somewhere

I asked on that FB page for you mate.

The word is that they are most likely ROH El -Camino's....or...a possibility of Ford Option 52 wheels ( think XA GT ).

It isn't an Option 52 wheel, because they had steel barrels.

I'm not exactly an expert on wheels like this, but I also thought they were ROH El Caminos. 

Personally, I find them a more attractive than the rounded spoke Cheviot Hustler wheels.

Thanks, Col. Heath’s right on the ford 52s, they were only 14 x 6.
Pity, mine is a 14x 7 4.5” pcd with centre bore of ~70mm. Xy era falcon
The gt guys would have been climbing over each other to get hold of it
I’ll keep searching for info on the el Camino, though
