As long as you don't have massive feet they can be squeased in the kick pannels. So I didn't hack up the metal I made custom MDF kick pannels with large raised 'donuts' that the speakers fit into. The drivers side just clears the accelorator, but on the passenger side there is heaps of room.

They are attached with 'nutserts'. Like a poprivert with a thread in it, in the webbing across the channel just in front of the door.

It sounds good, and its not as obvious or messy as door installs.

I didn't cut the metal in the kick pannels so the speakers do sit out a fair way, but its not too bad, and i didn't have to cut holes in stuff.

Yes it is close on the accelorator linkage, but since its a manual is clears fine. I did have problems with the speaker fouling on the kickdown switch bracket, but once i removed the bracket it was perfect.

The crossovers and tweeters have long since be bolted onto the boards, with the crossovers next to the upper bolt (there is no upper bolt on the drivers side since we couldn't get to it with the underdash unit) and the tweeters sitting next to the lower bolt. This ment moving the fusebox a few inches along the lower dash so it would clear the crossover on the drivers side. Sound wise, considering the tweeters are pointing into your knees just about it sounds really good. :tease:

Hope that helps. :spoton:

Yeah. Dad reckons he made a console back in the 80's for his HJ Premier. And put the speakers in there.

So It should work alright. The kick panels just wouldnt work for me (size 13-14 feet)

It will work in the centre console but you probably won't get a lot of 'stereo effect'...

It will work in the doors, but that means cutting big holes in my pristine door trims.

It will work in the passenger side kick panel. I have trouble moving my feet around in the drivers side as it is, AND I'm not getting any smaller...

I might not get alot of 'stereo effect' with this setup, but im pretty confident that it'll work better than the current setup...

Cheers, RIM
