Rare Spares.I’m pretty sure most come from the same supplier, I think the Rares ones are the best you’re going to get.

I have a genuine set of door seals which came with my car (my originals are like black chalk) and I tried to fit one (1) and it fitted perfect BUT door wouldn't come close to closing and I wasn't going to force it? Rubber gets hard with age as we all know, but is there any spirit (kero/metho/heat) that could soften these or am I best just to junk them and buy from rares?I know Rares supply a pressure pack can of something that is supposed to soften their rubbers but I haven't tried that as it just feels/smells like silicone.

Rubber Magic is silicone based. I used it on the new RSP door seals I installed back in 96. It did help the doors to close easier but those seals were never going to be anything like the originals.
My drivers door was the worst and since I changed out the seal for the new improved RSP seals the door is a lot easier to close and haven't put any Rubber Magic anywhere near it.

Someone told me to try submerging them in turps or metho for awhile (can't remember which one) to properly soften them. I have nothing to lose if I stuff them.

I thought they changed the seals a while back. Good to see they are better. I've just changed the door pillar so 🤞 the seal is ok.Rubber Magic is silicone based. I recently got a rubber kit from rares and the can of rubber magic states that it is silicone free.

You are 100% correct Rodney. My 26yo can of Rubber Magic states 'Contains no Silicones'.
