Hi members ive always wondered how many LC/LJ GTR and XU1 Toranas unrestored /Survivor cars would still exist.

eg  original paint, interior, carpet, engine, gear box, diff, glass, and all ;panels etc etc etc

and what value would  you guys value an unrestored  GTR/ or XU1 compared to a semi restored or a fully restored car

reading about that unrestored lone o ranger advertised by AMCS got me thinking,  it is a great looking XU1,  but in my opinion it is not an unrestored car as they have described it,

so how many genuine unrestored GTR/orXU1 toranas are still out there

Apart from the change of colour back in the late 70's mines a survivor ...even down to the yellow dollops on the front calipers  B)

Change of colour is not a survivor.

Change of colour is not a survivor.

I totally agree, but it's still nice to have one that (apart from the colour change) is untouched. I doubt many of our cars wouldn't have had something restored on them these days to fit into someone's definition of unrestored/survivor. I'd be guessing but I reckon you could count on one hand?

I don't think that you could ever get an accurate answer to that question. Of the top of my head 4 of them come to mind but just say we started to tally them up how will you know that you're not counting the same cars twice. There will also be some that were tucked away decades ago by people who don't get involved with other Torana enthusiasts so very few people would know about those ones.
