From looking at other pictures I'm guessing this big hole that's been covered up isn't supposed to be there? On the RH side it looks like the fender has never come off but it has the original purple overspray and is uniform on the cut out 🤔

It's not a factory cut out. I'd say that someone put a speaker in the kick panel.

It looks factory on the RH side because the overspray matches. I guess it's just another patch I need to make.
It's not a factory cut out. I'd say that someone put a speaker in the kick panel.

i looked at a CK car a few years back and i could see the flutes from inside the cab, not sure how long speaker would have lasted

Yeah, you can see the overspray from the flutes. Speakers would have been destroyed easily.
