Still looks like camber isnt quite right. Especially the front right.

But the angle of the photo could make it appear that way.

There normally isn't a huge gap between the tip of the lower control arm and the disc rotor. That is why there is the window in the backing plate to allow the LCA to protrude through it.

Looking at this pic of the LCA it looks like there is a lump of weld? on the tip of the LCA and that is what is contacting the rotor.

 

If it is a lump of weld grind it back, it is not original to the manufacture of the LCA.

Lowering the upper control arms.... like XU1 will help....?

(Sorry I haven’t checked previous posts thoroughly to see if you’ve already done this)

However with those wide rims will make the steering very heavy

Probably not. A heap of negative camber will though but that wouldn't be practical for a street car IMO.

Mate, any updates on what they found? Was there a lump of weld on the LCA rubbing on the disc rotor?

Hi Dave,
I took it back in but only for a quick look. I didn’t get any resolution. I need to get under and check the end. It’s been so hot and I’ve got a problem with brake booster (when you put your foot on brake it runs rough. We’ve changed rubber on manifold and valve in pipe end going into same so maybe booster needs attention).
Planning on checking it soon.

Yep sounds like rear seal in booster is leaking.

Hi Dave, big shoutout to you. I took LC to 80s Holden trained mechanic who did find the lower control arm had excess welding slag on the end. It looked like it had been repaired at some stage, before I owned it. So he’s ground it away and today is going to resell with tig so it’s smoother and lower.

Yep those bird shits are not factory. They wouldn't have been a problem with the drum brakes.

Hi i wouldnt repair the lower arm,   just buy another undamaged arm, problem solved

That lower control arm looks warped. I would definitely replace it. Jason
