Hello everyone, I have recently removed the girlock calipers off my LJ and the bleeder screws are at the bottom side  of the calipers, are they installed on the wrong sides?

Does anyone have any photos of their girlock calipers installed showing the bleeder screw?

No pics, but I'd be thinking tbe bleeder ALways needs to be up top.

So If upside down, (or more correctly installed on the wrong side of the car - crossed over) how were the brakes ever bleed?

what were the brakes like and how long have they been that way?

I bought a LC years ago and after a few months I thought the brakes weren’t great so I thought I would bleed them. They were upside down, don’t know how they bled them.

You unbolt the caliper, turn it bleeder up, bleed, reinstall.

Yep that will work, if you take off the disc as well and leave the caliper on the disc.

the brake hose to caliper length would interesting as well.

I only just bought the car, it has been sitting in a shed for 20 years and calipers were seized when I got it so don’t know if they were ever bled properly

Same... as they run the steel pipe from hose to caliper

The auto bleeders,

that has the hose clipped on the nipple,

and the non-return ball valve that sits in the fluid jar at end of the hose,

can bleed the air out of the system how ever the way (up or down) the nipple faces. :3gears:

You just keep pumping the brakes, till all the air bubbles disappear from the clear tube.  :deal:
