So my tacho sometimes works, sometimes doesn't ... in a nutshell, gives me this shits!

Mostly, it seems to work when I first start the car, then after a few mins stops working ... sometimes comes back on and works for 10-30 secs, sometimes for a few mins, and then stops again .... mainly it is stopped.

Have checked the leads to the coil, tight, what else can I look for?

Sometimes I have to give the dash pad a tap to bring mine back to life.
I suspect, as mentioned, there are connections on the back of the tach that may be loose.

Prob just the cylinder select switch. It’s a pretty agricultural looking bit of gear.

Give the single brown wire connector on the rear of the cluster a wiggle.

Gotta find it first .... was hoping it might be easy enoguh to slip my head underneath for  look, but looks like I may have to pull the dash out ???

There;s just enough room to get your fingers up there.

Have a look at the location first. It will help to orientate you.
