82911JH244677 still exists, it was for sale at AMCS in the middle of 2019.

It has a dodgy Body ID tag that has had the body number modified to read 10679B.

The build completion date recorded in the VML is 10/08/1972.

No idea who owns it now though.

Just saw the Body Tag on AMCS. Is that a factory typo or a tampered Body Number?

The body number on the tag appears to have been physically tampered with.

It does look that way. It is interesting as the Body No is 10625, the chances of finding another plate the same as the original, with only 2 numbers different would be ironic. Ok, I thought it might have been a Friday car. Bizzare.

It is a shame someone has ruined the provenance of the car by changing its proper body number to the numerical part of the chassis number. Damn stupid if that is what has happened. I have seen it before on a HZ Sandman where someone removed the Dandenong VIN tag and got one made using the PSN off the Elizabeth BODY ID tag (as by late 1977 Elizabeth bodies changed to an Elizabeth PSN). They left the Dandenong ADR tag and chassis number though.

Assuming that FUNK was given the numbers from the original vehicle log book, and the body ID tag on the car looks to have only had one digit of the body number replaced to make it match the chassis number then we may assume the body ID tag is off an entirely different car?

I was having a look through the AMC pics of the car, interesting, I can see a number of 1973 ADR 10B features on this car that I hadn't really taken much notice of back in 2019. Perhaps the original 8/72 body shell is dead and buried or it is only half the car it used to be?

The body number 10625 was on a photo of the Broadcast Sheet provided to me by the first owner. He took a photo of it on the windscreen at the Holden Dealer before he collected it. I haven't confirmed with him if he has a copy of the Log Book or the ID plates before they were removed.

Who knows? Best case is it all belongs together and the body number has been tampered with for whatever reason, but we've all seen what goes on with these cars and could be anything. It had an NP numbered engine in it too on that AMCS sale listing.

That seems unusual that the 1st owner was able to sight the Production Broadcast sheet and photograph it when he went to the Dealership to take delivery as those Broadcast sheets were normally hidden away under the carpet or rear parcel shelf or thrown in the bin at the end of the production line.
