About to paint my grille and headlight surrounds blackouts

 

Has anyone got any information regarding the horizontal lines that are silver on the grille - is that the aluminum and I have to mask that out or is it painted silver afterwards

Any silver that is visible is the grille not paint.

You need pin striping tape to mask up those fine lines on the grille and bezels. Probably about 3mm wide tape but I don't have an LC to measure the width of the bars you need to mask.

You can 3mm fine line masking tape from any quality automotive paint supply shop, it's very close to the original sizing of the masking width.
