Hi all,

looking for some help just bought a K-Mac rear sway bar to suit a 9 inch. Went to mount it up and found a couple of issues.

1. The spacer washers have the internal hole squared meaning they can’t be fitted the mounting bolt

2. My exhaust is in the way in mounting the pax side forward bracket.

 

anyone had these problems before and suggested solutions? 
 

any photos of how other people have mounted theirs would be appreciated

Quality control is non-existent at K-MAC.  It is not unusual to receive brackets with the holes punched in the wrong position or the wrong bolts and nuts to fit.

 

It sounds like you have the K-MAC UC style rear swaybar.

 

 

The Whiteline UV style rear swaybar may solve your exhaust clearance problems.

Yes mine looks like the top one.

 

The spacing washers inner diameter is too small for the bolts even after rounding the squared hole with a dremel. That meant a trip to Bunnings to get some washers to pack the brackets out.

 

unfortunately the attaching arm on pax side is fouled by the exhaust and a heat shield the sits on top of the muffler that attaches to the body. Looks like I have to drop the exhaust and notch the heat shield so it can clear the shield then create enough space by re positioning the muffler so it won’t contact the locator arm or the bushes.
