New to the Torana world and about to start the rebuild on my 76 slr 4.2 with paint code 568-15951 white. Paint seems to be origional but all the other cars similar other than white don't seem to have the sills and back panel blacked out. Is it an origional thing or has it been pained on after?

A factory LX SL/R L32 will have black sills and below the rear bumper line in black, I believe.
If it's black on the tail light panel (above the bumper line), that is not correct for any LX.

Not very clear images unfortunately but the LX parts catalog has a section on identifying different models that may help (sedan models only shown here):

Ok thanks guys, Has the sills painted as described and under the bumpers but it was the back tail light surround blackout I was most interested by. All the other colours I have seen don't have it but I have seen 3x white ones now with the exact same blackout so thought maybe it was just a white thing?

Hmmm... weird.
So it looks like this?

LX blackouts around windows, LX brightwork, LX black sills, but LH type black across the rear tail light panel?

Yes Heath exactly like that minus the front spoiler and the bonnet scoop and it has the black strip down the side. It is a 4/76 so quite early in the LX and thought maybe it had been carried over from the LH?

4/76 is a reasonable way into LX. Early cars were built in 1975 with large amount in the first few months of 1976.
