Hi

I understand that the old fibre matting underlay is now unavailable. My question therefore is:

Starting from bare metal, what is the sequence of treatments/materials, paint and underlays used in modern restorations?

I guess there is not much hope of going "concourse" in this respect.

Thanks

Bazza

I have a near complete set of original factory LC underlay on ebay at the moment in very good useable condition. Out of a 4 cyl 2 door granny car. My resto was, strip floor, fix rust and seal with POR 15. when POR 15 dries, paint floor with color of choice to seal all metal and then underlay, carpet, seats, belts etc. :spoton:

Thanks Pip

My car under-carpet area seems orginal but it's a bit hard to see what's goin' on under all that compressed underlay and body deadener etc. Luckily I have no rust to deal with but was goin to use POR15 in any case.

I will have a think about your eBay item - problem will be getting driver's side.

Where are you in Melbourne?

Thanks

Bazza
