Hi All.

I have a water leak in the boot and tracked it down to coming in through the Taillight assembly's where they fit onto the body. I have taken them out, stripped them down and replaced the inner seal between the Lens and taillight housing.

There appears that another seal should fit between the taillight housing and body.

Both of mine don't have any seal at all and searching everywhere I can't find a seal listed. I there one or do I just use silastic?

Cheers

John

The tail light housings were sealed into the body with mastic. I wouldn't use silastic or any other type of silicone sealer.

I used the good ol' Bostik black windscreen sealant for my taillights.

Thank You.  Now it makes sense why there were no seals just bits of sealant.

Hi John, what did you use for this "inner seal" I think I asked about this a while ago and got the impression that there wasn't one. Do you have a pic or link?  Or do you mean this one pictured below. I thought this went between the two halves. Thank you

Yes, that goes between the 2 halves of the tail light, it then gets mastic windscreen sealant between the back half of the tail light & the tail light opening in the vehicle.
