Hi everyone, long time no post.

Got a mate looking at a claimed Lj XU-1.

4/72 car.

Model tag says Cyan blue in colour, and has eng/trans/rear axle options with XU1 stamped for engine and G95 for diff.

My little bit of digging points to that tag being off a 73 car.

Can anyone assist?

Cheers, Collo

Welcome back Collo.

Correct it is a 1973 Body ID Plate. Cyan Metallic wasn't released until March 1973.The vinyl trim code will be 50X if Black or another trim code in the 50 through to 59 range.

If stamped Eng. XU1 it is an Acacia Ridge tag.

It may still be a genuine 4/72 XU1 just someone fitted the Body ID tag to try to make it look complete?

Not many XU1 built in April 72.

Brisbane = 7

Adelaide = 12 and I suspect a number of these were March 72 complianced cars that were held up and recorded as completed in April 72.

Yeah possible, he's got pics of the psn tag but can't read it. I'll see if he can get the actual numbers
