I am finally starting to assemble some of the door internals - can anyone tell me if I have got this right with the remote control rod to door lock assembly - there doesnt appear to be a clip etc that holds it in place in the workshop manual.

Correct, no clip. You cannot have a clip there as the lever needs to be able to slide along the internal handle opening rod when you operate the external handle to open the door. Put some white zinc oxide grease on that part as well.

yes there is meant to be a clip

I had a little wire looking clip on one of my latch assemblies. I tried to fit it to the LC but it was a bugger of a job so left it off.

I vaguely remember having the same ,Can’t imagine it coming out of that position so I dont really know why you would need it.
