Thanks Skap, all bunkered down. Should be good, wet, but good. Cat 2 isn’t much to worry about but if it brings 500mm of rain, that will be a nuisance.

The only power THEY have, is the power WE give them.

The whole system is f*cked. Every few years your presented with a lineup of dip shits, who do nothing but lie through their teeth to get (s)elected, then become a puppet for rich c$unts, and try to convince you is for your own good. And with Zero accountability for anything they do.

They don't even write the LAWS they impose upon us (not themselves) they are usually done by interested parties ie: lobby groups and the like

Most of them don't even bother to read what they vote on, just tow the party line

I could go on & on & on

but to me too many people (not pointing at anyone here) are living with their head up their arse. Can't see the forest through the trees, and can never fathom the government has sold them out.

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh? I guess the biggest problem is the Programming we endure, through schooling, media etc.... even your parents.

I agree totally with these sentiments. The system is farked.

One thing not often mentioned is how the minor parties often help leap frog the candidate with fewer votes to hold the seat. Preferential system gone wrong !

By "minor parties" I mean the Greens, these are made up of a bunch of useless lefties who otherwise could not hold a job in the real world & the party as a whole have policies verging on Communism, but nobody ever reads their manifesto.

Also it seems that our teachers are mostly left wing in their thinking & this rubs off on their students, look at the current pro-Palestine rhetoric.

I believe our elections should be run like the French Presidential election. They have 2 elections, the first which includes all of the minor parties (could be 12 or more candidates) & then the 2nd election (a week or 2 later) is between the top 2. The winner must have 50% plus to hold the seat. I think this would sort out a lot of the rubbish we see at election time.

FLY and Dr Terry........you are both thinking the same way as the majority of Australians.

The majority just need a platform to be heard.  Like the referendum we just had. Although it was amazing just how silent the media became once the result became obvious!!!

I guess no Toranas were swept into the ocean? I wouldn't know because I don't watch the news anymore.  I didn't even know there was a cyclone until I read it on here.

I'm the same Laurie. I know people who actually record one or two news and watch another, then watch the recorded ones. I simply don't get it; it became obvious to me even as a kid that the news was simply a means to keep your interest until the next ad break. Today it's become a platform for morons. Me, I change channels as soon as the news comes on, although to be fair most of what I watch now is recorded or streamed so no news to avoid.

Sounds like we all think alike on this forum.

I watch a lot of Youtube these days & avoid mainstream media like the plague.

My son will be starting Prep next year and Im already seeing this.....

I was gobsmacked at his Kindergarten Graduation that they brainwashed 4-5 year olds into memorizing a Welcome to Country. Ive taught my son to put his fingers in his ears when he hears these, so he was the only child to not participate. He walked off stage and sat with me for the duration.

I didnt send my child to kindy to learn this.... The could have taught them the Australian Anthem at least....

I watch youtube, but don't like censorship, or their little notes. so also check out alternative "conspiracy" sites, but you really got to sort the wheat from the chaff.

i know a teacher, she is in her 70's, they are teaching what they are tought at university, and the curriculum set by the state.

if i had young kids I wouldn't send em to school. NO WAY.

I went to a tech school in 80's, learnt handy skills. woodwork, metal work(lathes, welding etc..), electrical & mechanical, learnt cooking, sewing and the like.

Which is all great BUT, schools don't TEACH you anything about life, being a human?  don't even tell you how money works.

All they do is prepare you to be a good productive worker.

But these days it seams alot worse, because now it's just lies, woke bullshit and sexual deviates.

The older I get, the more cynical I get.

My wife works at a small private school. Her and the principal agree the "wtc" is bullshit. Unfortunately there is a herd mentality of flaunting inclusiveness. So sick of getting g it stuffed down my throat at work and through the media. Evanjelic self righteous do goodism is the real pandemic, and the system is exploiting it to perpetuate the ridiculous flow of wealth up the economic ladder. The renewable infrastructure boom is a good example.

I think the quickest and easiest way to solve the Gov issues, would be EVERYTHING they do must be 100% transparent.

Who they meet with, every word they say, every deal/ agreement they sign, every cent they receive and spend, you get the idea.

It all needs to be public record. After all they are Public servants who claim to work for us, represent us and speak for us. Live off the public purse.

Then they can be held to account for their actions. Even though legally their exempt. Privileged pricks
