I’m in need of a bit of advice from the brains trust.
I have installed an electronic distributor - RAE DB923N on my LX Torana 308. I also had my dash cluster serviced and a circuit board for electronic ignition installed. All the gauges are working correctly except for the taco which is reading too high.
I took the cluster out and went back to the place I had it serviced as we thought it might have been set for a 6 cyl.  They tested it and it is set correctly for a V8.

Is anybody else familiar with this problem?

Any help would be truly appreciated.

I've never had an issue with an original GMH (Holden, Torana etc) tacho changing from points to a HEI dizzy. In fact WB used the same tacho as HZ. So it must be the tacho I imagine.

I run a Pertronix unit inside my Bosch dizzy. Standard Tacho works fine.

I'd be thinking same if reading too high it would be 6cyl mode....otherwise hei it would either be jumpy or not read at all.

Had my lc gtr recalibrated to v8 specs to suit hei no issues.

Funnily enough left commodore v6 dashes in after v8 conversions  tacho sits on 1500rpm & jumps.
