Just curious who else on here has been watching the restoration of the XU1 on Youtube by Adamson Autobody.... Somewhere over there on your side of the ditch!!!

From someone who is not a panel beater at all what they do seems bloody mint to me!

It's been a very good watch and extremely detailed.
The car will end up top notch but I do get nervous when I wonder what the restoration bill will come to.

LOL.... I've wondered that as well. Because of their meticulous attention to detail they sure have put some hours into that car. And even at an average hourly rate I'm sure the bill is really  getting up there.

Colour is Lone O'ranger. I know the bloke who owns it (haven't seen him for 20+ years) but don't know if he is a forum member.

Dave hi  not the lone o ranger  torana,    its part 53, it looks like a mustard lj xu1, not sure about the colour, there pushing out of the spray booth, it has been base pre painted less the nose cone area, then they start working on the front, what i cant understand is why they didn t prep all panels before giving the rest of the body colour, there panel work looks great, but im not sure about there spot welds, around the nose cone rad support area, i thought a forum member might own it and he could tell us the costs involved etc etc,

That is the Lone O'ranger XU1 they pushed out of the booth. Buggered if I know why they didn't prep the whole car before paint but I can only assume they wanted to get base coat on all the bodywork that had been finished before the xmas break.

It's a 10/72 Brissy XU1 and looks like they haven't dressed down the tips of the guard drain channels.

They said that they left the nose cone unpainted because they lead wiped those areas. And were worried about surface rust forming where it was lead wiped ?.
