In the memory of the late Peter Brock, i am organising a cruise to Bathurst, to lay flowers on the mountain that made the man. I knew Peter from when i was about 12. my uncle used to race formula vee, and my brother and i would always be in the pits pestering the mobil 1 and later Holden Racing Team for Mr Brock to autograph whatever we could find. He was always a gentleman and always to happy to help, have a chat or sign an autograph. he was a man that didn't let fame go to his head. He was down to earth and genuine. He died doing what he loved and what he lived for. He will be sorely missed by many. May He Rest in Peace in Horsepower Heaven as our King of the Mountain.
Cruise details,
When: Sunday 17th september
Meet: Lithgow Macca's and adjacent KFC 11am for 12pm leave.
as people come from so many different areas this is about the point where we all meet up. if anyone wants to meet in other places before Lithgow please post so others know.
Bring: flowers/wreaths to lay on the mountain in memory of a great man.
Black ribbon on your arial will be done at Lithgow or you can supply your own.
Hoping to organise some media coverage so please no silly stuff.

I'm in! Comming from Orange so probibly easier to meet ya's on the mount! Unfortunatly my hatch is in the shed with the lid off for rust repairs so I'll have to drive the mini

I'm guessing you won't get too much of a turn out due to Toranafest happening on the same day.
Will check on what the OIC home front has planned and will probabley be a go for the mountain. Will look at heading off at 1230ish.

This cruise has been organised through the Commodore Clubs all across Australia as well as Torana clubs. It's unfortunate that the Toranafest clashes with the date, but the cruise will still go ahead.

The NSW monaro club has a damn cruise on that i want to attend on that day too!! ARGH...
I'm still definitely going to Toranafest.. I think it'll be a very special day.
I hope that the cruise to the mountain will be a great one, I hope everyone takes it easy and with great care.

Sorry Keith if it came across that way, it's been put out as a cruise to remember the Man, not the Car ... any person, in any car, is 100% welcome to come up the mountain. And as you'll notice, I put it in the General Section, not the GMH-Cruise section or anything ... It's a general invite. If you cannot come, thats fine. But there might be people on this forum who can, and would like to.

sonds like a good run to the mountain,,but im in the fest,already paid and really looking forward to it,,,,should be good,,,
