My Dad has this torque converter, left over from a previous project. Firstly - I'm trying to confirm what it suits. Secondly - what it's worth to sell for him.

Background story:

Dad had an LH Torana with 253 V8 and Trimatic. Sold the car. The new owner had all sorts of plans and Dad continued helping him work on the car for quite some time. New owner started collecting bits. He purchased a mild 308, and he purchased this torque converter. It was delivered from Underwood in QLD. I'm assuming it's a mild converter to suit the Trimatic, but I'm guessing. No idea if it's been re-co'd or just second hand. It measures at just under 12" diameter. Guessing - could be anything from an 1,800 - 2,500 stall? How do I confirm it is indeed to suit Trimatic, and not TH350/TH400?

New owner went on to purchase a manual box, so this became redundant.

Any help appreciated.

From memory TH350 and TH400 are the same. I just measured the original GMH one out of my HJ Premier and the pump spigot is 47.6mm OD. The dick on the engine side is longer though. Hope that helps!

I can't find Trimatic dimensions but here are the common GM dimensions, might rule some of them out:

Wont know whats been done to it without cutting it open but being a 12" core I'm guessing not much.

From memory you're out eastern suburbs way? Take it to TCE and they'll be able to tell you what fits at the very least. Cores are harder and harder to get, they might make an offer on it.

See if you can count the splines inside the drive and figure the PCD of the feet.

I’ve got a standard trimatic one here
For a 6, though.
No idea if it’s the same as a v8 one
Can measure it if it’s any help
