Hi all

just fitting the cam into my 253 Build, and the fuel pump drive pin doesn’t protrude into the fuel pump eccentric, has anybody ever come across this, BTW i have tried to remove the dowel and it ain’t moving

The drive pin protrudes .440” and its needs to be .700” to secure cam and fuel pump

From my poor memory, I thought the fuel pump eccentric was a cup type arrangement.

The flat part goes against the cam not the hollow.

Only need a few mm for it to locate.

Does this help at all?

Cheers

Rob

Cam seller wasn’t very helpful, and offered a new dowel, the problem being removing the old one, so here is my fix

i cut 2mm off the cam location dowel leaving 9mm into gear, and made another pin from the old camshaft 7mm long, ( 3mm into fuel pump and 4mm purchase into cam, and made another pin mudguard washer to hold it in place
