Does anyone know if an 8 track player was an option from factory in 1973 Toranas? Specifically the XU1?

I don't think any Torana even had a radio as "factory" fitment, although it may have been possible to order one with a radio to be fitted at an Assembly Plant, not many cars were actually ordered though. Almost all would be dealer fitted, like mud flaps. From memory the first GMH vehicle to be offered with an 8 track was HJ. HX LE was standard with one I think.

There was no 8-track player option or genuine accessory for the LJ.

That unit pictured looks like a commonplace aftermarket unit from the mis 70s.
