Hi All

thinking of heading down the road of Hydraulic roller cam in 253

Roller Cam Crow 51330

Roller cam followers

I have checked valve lift and there is no binding at advertised lift so problems there (.550” max)

Do I need different pushrods?

Can i run std bridges?

Has anybody run a roller cam in Holden 308 or 253 have a view

Thanks

Talk to Crow. They'll know exactly what you nee. You'll probably need stronger springs though.

Roller cans need different spring pressure. Tell they guys at Crow what you have and they’ll advise.

When I converted my SBC to hydraulic roller, the engine builder used beehive valve springs. Much more modern design with lots of advantages - easier on components etc.

Its a lot more expensive than doing a flat tappet cam and probably no advantage in a mild street engine.

The best low cost performance improvement you could do is ditch the 253 and build a 308.

After reading crows instructions which differ from lunati , I will flat bottom again and follow crows instructions

( the big difference crow request you trail fit and check for rotation of every lifter before final assembly and running)

 Was never chasing huge performance,
