gday all,

my current tyres (Sumitomos 205/60R13) are starting to get down near the wear indicator, so its time to start considering new tyres.

Theres not a lot stopping me from just buying new Sumitomos, but i am interested in hearing some people experiences with BFGoodrich Radial T/A, prefereably recent experiences.

there good in the dry but tend to get a bit slippery in the wet. mainly due to the tread, the water gets trapped more as there is no way for the water to exit easily, compared with a performance tyre.

alhough they are very good in the dry. very much a dry weather tyre with caution taken in the wet... mind you, that applies to any torana. i got 245/50/14.

Im with BMXer, i got BF Goodrich, great in the Dry, but in the wet they are a little scary, no traction and the car likes to drift...

I have Ta's and they are still shit in the rain the same as they were 25 years ago... but gee they look good.

Agree with the majority, shocking wet weather tyres.I know youve got the bb 173 on gas, so breaking traction won't be the issue.lol only gagging.But even trying to stop with these things in the wet can cause alot of unwanted stress.My opinion=play it safe, keep looking.

Thanks for the thoughts people. Looks like I might stick with the Sumitomos. My Torana is a daily driver, not a weekender or show car, so i drive it everyday, rain or shine.

P.S. to fly the performance increase with the 173 on straight gas is quite noticable. She spins the wheels quite easily on dry ashfelt, a lot easier than she did on PULP. :rolleyes:

I'm running Nangkang's. Great in the dry, seem to last for ever (three yeasr old), but no traction in the wet from normal standing start.

MMMMm, there must be different compounds between front and back tyres, coz my front ones are OK, but the back ones have grip problems wet or dry :lol:
