finaly the lc is in the 13s

i hope this works as it is my first time trying to put pictures up on the web.but more to the point finaly we have got our n/a 202 powered lc into the 13.89 @96.3mph first time out with the new engine . :rockon:

can somebody please let me know how to go about getting this time on the drag time register?

Well done,looks like you are on your way to beating my best time when I had a 202 which was 13.1.It took me several attempts to get that.

I can't really remember what times I ran first time out but it wasn't a 13,more like a 19 or a 21 with lots of wheelspin,nearly got booted out for trying to go down the track sideways at the EC dragstrip.Best of the runs that night was a low 14,slower than what the old owner did lol.

Beast! Congratulations on the entry of the 13sec bracket :)

...excuse my ignorance, but what is the hose enterring the motor's side plates?
Can we have some specs? :rolleyes:

firstly i didnt realise that anybody could view the photos that i put up in photobucket.but thanks heath for putting them up for me. :clap:

engine specs:

red crank ,blue rods,acl duralite pistons.060th ,straight cut timming gears,wade 341 cam,10.4 to 1 comp,9 port head flows just short of 300hp,45mm webers,holden m22 g/box,nicks performance clutch , ford 9" .all blue hoses are engine breathers. and it did back to back high 13s not just one. :spoton:
i think that will cover engine specs?

Very tough 6 cylinder!! Love it!

I'll add you to the drag time register!

For some reason, the time card isnt working.. If you can try re-linking to the image, I'll grab the incremental times from teh time card and update the register with that too!

The bloke doing the Rangie engine for me told me that they are now running vacuum pumps on breathers for drag cars to help suck the pistons down, relieve breathing, and prevent oil leaks. Never heard of it but makes sense to me. :blink:

makka, we hope that the breathers will help in keeping the engine allive a little longer. no hp figures as yet.we beleive that there is more in it yet. :D

dam that looks tough good to see some 6 ljs out there

christ if i squint it might have looked like my lj coupe a few years ago (previous owner drag raced it similar yellow had a 6 heard it was running high 12s low 13s had a hornet scoop as well

anyone rememeber the car????

chev 253 torana, ours is actually a lc with a lj front and rear tail lights, and it was originaly red when we got it but it is now devil yellow same as the late model monaros. Thanks Hayden
