If anyone here has installed a Tremec TKO in a LH-LX Torana I just want to know how severe was the tunnel surgery required and what is the shifter location like in the stock console? Also are there any other difficulties I should know about?
thanks,
Nick

i am in the middle of fitting my TKO 600.
its in at the moment and doesnt hit anywhere, it is very close on the passenger side of the upper tunnel. sorry i cant help any further but i dont think much surgery is needed to get the gear box to work.
hope that helps you a little.
with shifter hole, i have fitted it to a car that was column auto so i didnt have a hole, but it looks to be close to the factory position as long as you have ordered the correct box.

I was expecting to have to perform fairly drastic tunnel surgery, so I am glad to hear that it may be alot easier than I thought. I have ordered a GM style TKO 600 and I have a CRS cable type bellhousing and CRS cross member. The box should be here in a few weeks so I'll see for myself then, but if you can post any progress photos of your install it would be appreciated.
thanks,
Nick
