gday,

I am in the process of removing the heaterbox from the engine bay. After removed all the bolts under the dash and the 'box still doesnt want to come out..

Although I have not removed the dash, is that a task that needs to be done? It is natural for me to suspect the next place to look is behind the dash..

What have i missed

I did it about 18 months ago when I started rebuilding my LC. I haven't put it back in yet.... You don't need need to remove the dashboard. From memory, remove the screws and the clips that attach the top casings for the heater fan and heater core and make sure that there are no addition screws securing the base of the heater unit to the fire wall. Hope this is of help, but I'm sure that there is somebody out there that is more familiar with the process.

Once ALL the nuts are removed the only thing left holding these boxs in is windscreen sealant/mastic.

Just make sure every nut is off and gently lift it up, it will slowly break the seal.
