rear parcel shelf LC

I know that the genuine holden shelves are a 2 piece being split close to the curved rear. The shelf inside the car seems to step up a little right where the shelf joins.
My question really is does the shelf sit totally flat or does it tilt up at the back to follow the step in the shell ????
Some pics would be handy!
cheers

The following is from my LJ but I am guessing the LC is the same. I hope this helps

But if you remove the felt strip the their is still a raised step!
Is the shelf suppose to sit dead flat or kick up at the back ?

If you take out the underlay strip, the shelf is flat. I am guessing that if you didn't have the underlay strip in there, there would be an unfinished gap between the shelf and the rear window rubber. The flap on the trim is to allow the gap to be taken up. I often wondered why the trim had that hinge thingy - now I know.
Hope that makes sense.

I had a double-din stereo in the middle of the dashboard (also recovered the crashpad and extended the radio section to suit).
Made my own headlining and also hade my own heaterbox (which I moved to the inside of the cabin - worked better!).
Nice audio install and Saas seats which I had recovered in black vinyl to suit the interior better... engine was a mild 186 with no exterior mods...

I made one with a welded steel frame for my LC which I added 'foam & vinyl' covered chipboard panels to... A few other ones too - had 6 radios stolen over a year or so (that's why I went ccd cameras and steel framed consoles!).
