re installing badges on the 4 banger 1971 LC. I have 2 that i need to know where they should be:

1. 'DELUXE' approx 8cm long

2. 'TRI-MATIC' approx 11cm long

I just finished re installing the 'torana' ones on front side panel, what an absolute bitch that far nut was to get on, who ever invented that location must dance in their grave each time someone tries to get their damn hand up there let alone try and screw the bloody thing on. Lost about 3 layers off my knuckles.

now come on, surely I am not the only one here who has a stocky 4banger Deluxe LC in their collection.

I have been searching for pics but haven't found any.

I think LC and LJ are the same with this... Trimatic should be attached to the back passenger side of the boot.

You can see the holes from where the pins were in the picture below.

Hi Kaz.

Sorry it has taken me time to check this for you, but I finally managed to find an original LC Deluxe sales brochure. Rather than me try & post the pictures, I can describe it to you.

The picture, above of the dark green LC SL 4 cyl has the SL badge in exactly the same posistion as the equivalent Deluxe badge. The picture above that, of the Strike Me Pink LJ has its TriMatic badge in the same spot as your's should be.

Hope this helps.

Dr Terry.

Dr Terry, I'm pretty sure that that LJ is Purr Pull. Just being picky.

Put them on the collectable shelf in your lounge, Leave them off so when people like HATCHMAN Ask whats in it, You can say a blown big block,
Keep it sleeper :D
Personally i hate badges on cars, i pull them off and throw em away, looks neater without but each to their own, :spoton:

I'd love to see a Blown BBC under the bonnet of a 4 banger LC... and the traction that those 12x5 tyres give ya, its just mind blowing.

haha.

Hi Guys.

RIM-010 said:- "Dr Terry, I'm pretty sure that that LJ is Purr Pull. Just being picky."

It's a bit difficult to tell from a colour brochure printed well over 30 years ago, but it's definitely very pink, not purple. I may be wrong, it could be Orchid Metallic, it was popular in those years.
