A9X Master Cylinder Att: Dattoman

I obtained an original GMH PBR unit from a 1981 statesman, it has the cast PBR brand name "circled" and the number 1 cast as per original A9X, with the following stamped on it:
* C 450 (crack pressure ?)
* 5H1 ?
Also one of the pipe thread fittings (rear) appears larger than the fitting currently on the car. Can this mast cyl be overhauled to suit A9X spec or do I just put up with the ford unit I currently have (or just change the lid to correct GMH style) ?
cheers

So what you have there is 2 10x1mm ports and the rear is a 12x1mm port
If you want to keep the original look as far as thread sizes are concerned just change the metal lid.
If you want to get real fancy you need to file off the numbers and restanp the right ones. And it needs to be the master cylinder that doesn't have a "1" cast into the top under the front of the fluid bottle.
But they are few and far between. I found one recently for my car...... not that I'm making a faker.... I just want to put the later master on.
The crack pressure on an A9X is C225 same as a commodore. The WB one is way off but this rarely is an issue for streeters.

What plated finish should the metal lid be, Chrome ?
Certainly would like to know why the original owner got rid of the original Mast Cyl- if it was faulty, just have it overhauled !!!

like this (hope the owner doesn't mind me showing off his bits)
Note the rounded front piece where the WB has a "1" stamped this has no markings

Its abit of a black art really and not normally something general populus needs to concern themselves with
On a sidebar I now have 3 core units I will be making up as replicas .... wonder how many can pick the fake
One thing I'm unsure on though... I've had 2 genuine A9X master cylinders come thru the shop this week. One had a pale yellow fluid bottle and the other had a pale white one. So not sure what bottles to put on my "copies" yet. I can only get the white ones brand new... yellow would have to be a good second hand one at best....hmmmm....what shall I do.
I have the correct base cylinders, I have the correct metal caps. My plater is doing them in the right colour for me. Just need to sort out the bottles and mill the numbers off the end to replace with new stampings.
Pics to follow when finished.
I'm keeping 2 of them... one for my car and a spare. The other I may offer up on ebay or here.

The replacements available are not as clear (translucent).
By the way what is the PBR part # for the replacement?
I have a couple of really good photos that show the difference between the original and the F**D replacment used. It does not look like you can make the F**D into an A9X unit by any means. The casting is too different.

P7155 is the white ( and as you say not as clear) bottle. Its not available seperatly to my knowledge but I have asked PBR if I can buy it. Maybe in lots of 20 like I do with some others I buy. I have a significant account with them so they might let me have them.
The Falcon cylinders I have are the identical casting to the A9X one. Not the normal Falcon one with the 1 cast in the end for the size. They are identical to the pics above they just have the wrong #'s stamped in the end which I plan to mill off.
I'd be keen to see the pics you have......... I like gathering info.

Yes its a washed out silver
XC Falcon master..... but only some have the right casting. If it has a 1 on the end its the wrong one.
