Nice job, but how come you changed the whole housing over? It's a only a 20 min job to change the center and axels.

Edit: When i swaped to 3.9s in my LX it was amazing. You can lay the power down any gear and time.

Correct. I travell down the Hume 6 days a week, so dropping the revs (if only a bit) will help. I changed the whole diff as it was an excuse to travel to Bendigo to see makka to buy it! Wasn't hard to swap, and I now know how to do it!
I've found 2nd gear seems to go forever now!!!!

So it makes a bit of a difference then?
You should be able to wring 140-50kmh out of second gear, your drivline is similar to mine (253/trimatic/3.08 gears)

Thankfully it's just a 253 still (as far as I know) so it shouldn't be too lethal... just don't start doing burnouts Dick :P

My daily driver runs straight gas, hasn't had a proper tune and I need the reliability for work, so she's a cruiser more than a bruiser, but I still give her a chirp or two!!!
Yes Heath, it's a tired old 253

Yeh he drives it every day. I see it every so often in the area, every time iv seen Dick his in that car. Did you end up getting a GTS wheel mate?.
Mate if you ever need a banjo just give me a hoy, Iv got a few of em for back ups. even got spare axles so dont worry about paying for them if you break it mate.

Love them hatchs
Cheers
John

Thanks John... I'll keep you in mind!
I might have this arse about, but weren't you clearing out all your gear? I'm sure it was all your gear going cheap! And bugger, no, I still haven't got a GTS wheel yet...always something popping up, eh?

QIKSLR, I don't believe in storing cars in sheds.... they're built for driving (and I spose that means fixing too!) he he

Yeh it was me selling all that gear mate. That steering wheel i was selling i ended up giving it to a real good mate of mine , only reason i gave it to him is cos he needed it for his new SS hatch prject and his given me far too many things in the past so time to pay it forward i guess. If you need anything just give me a hoy.

John
