^^ It looks like they did, you can see specs of orange in the "o's" and other letters

Looks like a MINT car!!! No idea what it would be worth though??? Just do it up and keep it!

Very nice car. Can't comment on how many were built, but a nice 308 GTS fetches around the 35k mark. Being a Sienna trim combo does make it fairly unique though!

i can buy it but have no idea about the car, only the history given to me by the owner, but price is much lower than 35k.

No mate they did make more then the one and i have seen about 3 in the last 4 yrs so there is definitely still more then the one in existence. As for the trim and colour combo though i wouldn't be surprised if that is one of the few if not only one. Personally i have never seen a 65B in a monaro before. I thought my HX Monaro was rare enough with a 66B interior (cream/chamiss colour) but i have seen more the one of mine before but the 65B is somthing else.

Personally John if i was you if you can buy it for a decent amount do so, but i wouldn't buy it with the hope its worth a fortune due to the rarity of the colour alone.

If you want give me a call or send me a PM with what you know about the car in terms of what it has, whats done, general condition stuff and i can give you an honest estimate on what its worth if you want John.

Hi Shadowmaster, Just curious about the 3 you have seen in the last 4 years, were they papaya HX's or papaya HX Monaro's. Would you possibly have any photos of them by the off chance?? Thanks Ron.

yeh i would like to know as well ron,, given that the head of the sydney monaro club said thay never made any in the papaya, even with that pic of it sitting on the turn table at holden, he still said it was a missprint on the tag.

very interesting, has anyone got a value on it,being a 4 door to me its not a real monaro they should have called them gts,s,but thats just my opinion, don,t think there would be a big market for collectors.looks great, but wouldn,t pay crazy money, good car for family to go shpping in.

cheers craig

If that was my car, there'd be no shopping trips taken in it. If it's a good car to go shopping in, can someone please tell me what cars are worth collecting - I obviously have no idea. R

Nah mate they were definitely HX Monaro's, thought i will admit that one of them i didn't see the tags so that one might just be painted up.

I have a hx monaro sedan L31 M41 GU4 paint 568-17777 trim 1916-18X 09/76 adelaide built.
interior is black with red strip, dont know if is correct for 18X, currently a project car, with several ahead of it.

high performance 2 doors for collecting, and high performance 4 doors for the family to go shopping in,that may sound silly to some but it works for me, sounds like you think its some bathurst special worth a whole heap,i,d use this one as a driver.

i never gave it a thought maybe this is the best some could get there hands on and this would sound silly, sorry to those that only could afford something of this pedigree,i guess you would cherrish it.Posted Image

Funny thing is 5 years ago this was my daily driver & my 327 HK was my weekender until I drove it 220 k,s to the Monaro Nationals at Bathurst (blue/white vynal roof) & could barely stand up straight by the time I got there . I have no regrets selling my bathurst car as the HX is a much better car to drive .If collectability is gudged by the number of doors a car has I only have 4 collectable cars & 6 non collectable cars . Makes me wish I never bought those damn GT,s. But I wish I had 1 of those phase 3 taxi,s to do my shopping in. Ron

thank god for some sanity.... its a lovely car and I would gladly own it, 4 doors are just as collectable and I hold the monaro in the same light as 4 door A9X's and L34's and SLR5000's after all you wouldn't call them daily drivers either.

mate i agree it is a lovely car,but to hold it in the same light as the torana,s [not]they were made as a family car engines were very tame,L34,s and A9X 4 doors are high performance cars and are much more sort after,so what would this gts 4 door be worth?

only shit stiring about 4 doors i,d have a L34 any day or A9x brock walkinshaw the list goes on sorry if i have offended anyone,it just doesn,t make sence that a phase 3 taxi is worth so much, the rest of the world was making fast 2 doors at that time ,who cares if it was the fastest 4 door.
