Have the whole chev coversion just about sorted but don't want to start pulling the car apart until i have all the coin. Hate doing things in halves.
So for the mean time will take the bonnet back to baremetal and give it a few coats of chamois.
Also need to re-assemble & stick my 2 spare doors on it (ones from dan355).. i'm still looking for more also!
Little bit of filled in the 10c size piece of rust in the LHS wheel arch and "straighten" up the dented LHS guard.
Ordered some plush pile carpet for the mean time... cheap ebay stuff but should do the job... also picked up a NOS column knob...
This is purely so i can take it cruising around town for now... cams huge though so might pull it out.
Got quoted 12k for the full panel & paint aswell so when all the driveline/electrical is sorted i'll strip it all down and get the body done to make sure its all sweet first.

I know there's that pimp my ride show, nothing like that. More like an aussie muscle car restoration show....I wonder who I could email with this idea? I was reading your situation and I know the pain. My car is getting nearer, but it has been 7 years of holding back due to coin..

Overhaulin' is along those lines, but I don't think I'd like someone coming along and messing with my car, I'd be telling them to put it back how it was!Wouldn't it be great if they had a reality TV show in australia like back yard blitz, but they take your car a do all the mods for you without you knowing?

Well it depends if someone close to you knew exactly wanted you wanted to do, then it wouldn't be so bad. Although half the fun is gone when someone else does all the work.
Often when I mod anything it is more the journey than the destination that I enjoy.

Exhausted, blistered up and sunburnt :S
Didn't finish the bonnet cause of blisters but the bloody car better be happy!
Grabbed some more details on the car as i had never searched what it was from the factory or where it was made etc.
I do know the 202 isn't its original motor though as it had a HDT engine built/installed in 1992 with HDT serial # 25781.
The 202's Engine # is QL700675 and it has T44S5 right next to it... Can someone please tell me the origins of this engine?
Also the "Yella Terra" head has serial # 9937262 on it... Anyone able to tell me which series it is?
Ok now for the plate details:
Model: LX8VC69 - SL i know. Doesn't have the strips/badging as it had a respray early in its life around the late 80's.
Body: 551011M
Trim: 1887-60A
Paint: 568-15950
Engine: LD1 (173 ???) Trans: M40 (Traumatic) Diff: GU4 (3.08:1)
Center Tag: 8C69DG J551011X
Left Tag
Built: 11/76
BLX0 27375M
Also it has a few miniature rust bubbles coming up on LHS wheel arch, RHS doors and near the bumper bracket mounts where Heath's was rooted.
All very minor and easily fixed!
Radiator support, floors, boot, guards and sils are still in perfect condition...
Pics to come in the next 5 minutes when the finish uploading.

Anyway bonnet has been complete.d 1 door needs some slight rust repairs to the frame and then both to be painted and put back on.
I've remove the LHS guard for a bit of massaging which i need to have done by Friday week.
After being a mortgage payer for the past 5 months and not being able to live in my own house the tennants have finally found somewhere to move to so i get to move into my own house finally. Has 2 garages on it already so will post in the Shed Thread and planning for a much larger shed down the back as i've purchased a 2 post hoist 2nd hand.
Money is a killer when paying a mortgage at 22 without being in the mining sector! haha
The 6cylinder will be staying in this one until new shed is up so it can be moved around. Have some cad drawings of a buggy my older and younger bro are going to weld up for the hot 2002 to go in aswell when i finally pull it out.

Have also just about finished cleaning the other shed up for the RB LH. Will hopefully tow it here Monday-ish.
Drove the LX here though as its street registered. Has shitloads of poke for a 202! it. It has now done about 50k's since i've purchased it.

But some good news.
Finally getting my act together with getting it sunday driveable again. 202 is back in place.
Doors are about to get prepped and put on.
My older brother will be welding 2 small bits of rust up on 1 door while i re-prep the other (it was 2pak primered) Also he will be welding a small section in the LHS wheel arch aswell.
LHS guard still needs a small massage aswell.
- Carpet is here
- Column shift knob here
- New HDT Improved sticker for rear window
- VX SS seats purchased (not fitted - got spare rails to get modded to - Cheers Swarbs)
I have also purchased a rear venetian.
Yeah its one of those drag on projects but i've spent it all on the engine so far but enough is enough for now.
Once again... mortgages suck the wang!
EDIT
Excuse the calais front that i'm about to prep for my ls1 vl skid car
