I had a quick look at it a while back.

It has been there a LONG time.....

I'm talking maybe 2 years? Could be a bit less but its been there a while anyway.

The paint looked pretty good when I saw it but I only had a quick look because once I saw the price tag that was it for me.....

If you wait another 12 months you might get it for what its actually worth....

I think its worth a look anyway. The paint looked fresh, and its kept indoors so there's no worries about it sitting around....cept the running gear I suppose.

looks like the car my mate built in redcliffe qld, hothouse green,, if it is the paint will be smick but, yes but there is no way that car is worth anywhere near 23k.

i know its not ive seen other toranas in pretty much the same condition but cheaper!

im trying to swap him for my car cause after looking at some bank statements i don't think ill have enough to buy it but not for 23k tho...
if he did want to swap then i would have the fun job by driving from tasmania to wa and back... :blink2:

maybe put some pics up of your calais so we can see what that is worth.................but there is no way in hell that UC/US is worth that much coin.

ok then but wouldn't know how much the calais is worth tho i am thinking it wont come close to a reasonable price for the uc
but i could give him a few grand cash to make up for it or something...

geez man... go out to your calais, open the bonnet, put your head in there, then proceed to try and close the bonnet a few times... might knock some sense into ya !!!

If it were a hatchback, it might be worth half its asking price !

i'd say its worth 7 - 10k at most
when i was looking for a uc i found you can get a similar car(without the injected V8)
for around 10k

it shore is mattys car from redcliffe then,,and the paint is the only thing worth any money,, he sold the car for 8k, when he got my xu1 ute i built.
patch,, i have a uc here, you can have it for a grand, paint it to what ever color you like then wreck your car and use your running gear, sell of what parts you dont need to buy a 9in,

presto you have one proble better than that for the price of you car and a bit of work.
cheers gong.

yea thanks for that i would like that

i wouldn't pay 23,00 for that uc cause for 23,000 i could buy this lx that's in launceston that's only 2 hour drive from my place

Posted Image

i know the uc has been for sale for a very long time on trading post.
i carnt afford to buy a cheaper uc and transplant the running gear from my calais into it cause that would have to mean ill have to push my lx that im building out of the shed
and into the back yard.
i got some one to price the calais and he said you wouldn't sell it for more then 8,000 so thats why i thought i could swap the car yard for the uc...
but i was thinking last night that if he did want to swap the cars then ill have to book a spot on the spirit of Tasmania and come ova and drive all the way to wa and that wouldnt be cheap.

OMG Skap. rice all over my keyboard! what a classic statement!

For sure the UC is well over priced. Much better off looking for something better for that kind of $$.

Good luck with ya search.

Ev.

Hey Patch - get a grip on reality - there is no way in hell that dealer is going to sell that car for $8k - I reckon $15k might buy it from him if you are lucky. Its probably worth around $8-10k if it is absolutely immaculate and extremely well built. He will probably offer about $5k for your car. Add in the cost of going to and from Tassie (say $3k ?) and you are looking at a changeover price of about $13k for it.

What you are contemplating is sheer madness.

Sell your car and then go and buy a car closer to home.
