The time has come to start the project that I have been going to do for a while now. Its a good 20 foot car but rough up close. I know there is bog in it just not sure how much. one photo below is bonnet hinge with 4-5mm.Attached File  20180121_162329.jpg   258.86K   26 downloadsAttached File  20180125_161707.jpg   157.88K   28 downloadsAttached File  20180125_161733.jpg   144.69K   28 downloads

Yeah "saved" was probably a poor choice of word, "restored to it's former glory" then!

So what are your plans other than bodywork? Full respray? Colour change? Adding any more cylinders etc.?

I have a 304 and T5 to go in it, Full repaint, the purple has grown on me over time but really like barbadous green, still not fully committed to colour. Original colour aquarios.

Looking forward to following your build, Danny,

I'm really drawn to purple cars lately but there's not many Aquarius coloured ones around and I've been told it's a relatively rare colour on hatches.

Cheers,

Liz :)

I'm sure nobody would get bored with a build thread, I'll definitely keep an eye on it :)

Cheers,

Liz :)

Can anyone identify the above calipers. With the hq stud change I always thought the caliper went on the front.

Hi Danny, can you see the part number of that Brembo disc ?

The calipers look like HZ but mounted on the rear.

Wow it’s been 14 months since last post, life does get in the way. Been doing Reno’s on a trashed rental but finished now and back to the torana. It’s been stripped and I have started pulling front panels for a rail change out.

The car has had a front hit before I got it. The rails and inner guards have had a front cut welded on overlapped poorly. Will load some pics of rail damage when I get home tonight. When I got it in the early 2000's I was mainly chasing a complete driving car and overlooked a lot of stuff that annoys me now.

Passenger side rails seem to cop it the most. Mine has had a kiss there too, the rail damage Is not extreme but I will be doing this job myself at a later date to satisfy my OCD. I’m lucky that the inner fender on mine was replaced with a NOS item but I will be watching your progress with interest Danny. Lucky their is people round like yourself that still get it done properly. Looking forward too it.
