The column in my hatch is buggered it rattles and has heaps of movement in it. I was wondering how to pull the whole thing out in one piece? I have done what i thought needed to be undone to get it out but no go. Anyone know?

What have you undone so far?
there are a couple of bolts under the dash, some wires and the coupling in the engine bay

Heaps of movement? Sounds like the collapsible capsules in the bracket may have snapped (only guessing). As tinks said there's the wiring plugs, 3 bolts under the dash also 4 bolts going through the firewall with a rubber surround and the flexible coupling bolts (cotter pins) which you'll need to remove one of...

sounds like you might have the same problem i experienced as well as LXCHEV? i had a fracture down the side of the housing which alloud the steering wheel and barrel to be moved around. Very sloppy and dangerous to drive with. LXCHEV i think has a couple picys

I forgot about the 4 bolts holding the panel onto the fire wall i thought it was just a rubber sleeve that went through it. I will be pulling it out on saturday so hopefully no more shakes and rattles.
