As far as I know, the M76 was behind carby VK's and was a fairly weak box, whereas the T5 was behind 3.8 V6 and 5.0 V8's and is much stronger although still not the strongest box around.
The V6 and V8 T5 have different ratios, which do you have ?

Hi rodomo.
The BW T5 wasn't fitted to any VHs. The M76 box is the Borg Warner 007 5-spered box, similar to the mid 80s Sigma & Falcon 6 gearbox.
Dr Terry.

Careful with the T5..1st is a stump pulling 3.5 or something..I looked at it but the ratios are as wide as Australia.

The box I have is from VH or VK 6. It has the crappy nylon gearshift holder and the preloads are adjusted at the bellhousing. I have VK info that tells me:
1st 3.24
2nd 1.96
3rd 1.26
4th 1.00
5th 0.79
Is the 007 what I have?
I am looking for lower 2nd and 3rd gears.
Is standard aussie (I don't know the M20, M21 thing)
not the XU1 box lower in these gears?
I have info of 2.156 for 2nd and 1.366 for 3rd for this aussie.

If it's got a 1.3:1 3rd gear its an M21
M20 has a 1.5:1 ratio for 3rd.
M20 has a 1.5:1 ratio for 3rd.
