The idea has been floated that we oranise a GMH-T Drag night at WSID as part of their wicked wednesday street meets.

THey;ve recently begun running Fast Friday meets as well, but as yet i do not know if they will hire out a lane for the use of a group as they DO on wednesday nights.

Question is... Who would go along if we were to organise one?

I do not want to contact WSID and organise something for onlya handfull of members to show up on the night. It really needs to be a good, comitted turnout!

Please post here if you would like to go along, and your preferances as to when etc and we'll see what we can organise!

Attending:

Tiny & Simmo - HQ Coupe. - Prefer Friday Night.

I should add.. We'll decide on a set date in a short time, but Simmo and i are heading west from mid december till early january.. So i'm going to try and get a race meeting in before we leave! and then of course MANY meetings upon our return!

Cheers!

rodomo WSID stands for Western Sydney International Dragway
and Tiny i would prefer Friday nights only because it would be alot
easier for the out of town people to attend this event.

P.S. BRING IT ON SYDNEY

cheers Keith

Forgot to mention, Wed. night has the added attraction of the burnouts, if that interests anyone.

Wed. night finishes up at 10, Friday- midnight (supposedly. Last Fri was undersubscribed and they finished up at 9.30)

Yea i would show my face as a spectator. wednesday or friday nights no real preferance.

A bit of a change of topic, but I was at the Motor Show and got the bag with the WSID info and it said for Wicked Wednesdays a 3 point seat belt is minimum.

So thats a normal seat belt???
:fool:
Like not a lap sash lol

Well!
Keith1962 has done us all a big favour and dropped in to see WSID to clear up a few things!

It is now confirmed that we CAN book a lane EITHER wednesday OR friday nights! We just have to let them know a week in advance!!

There is a limit of 20 cars in teh dedicated lane, and we basically have the run of the joint. By that i mean that we can organise how we race in our own ways! So if we want... we can organise our own grudge matches between our own members!

The cost is the normal $45, taken at the gate and everything is as normal for a WSID street type event. The car must be regoed, rego papers and scrutineering is all the same as a street event!

So if we can decide on a preferred night.. and then a date.. we could organise this!

Cheers

you mean you get your own lane in the pits?
when you hit the track you split up into the 2 racing lanes?

Thats correct mate!
We get to line up in our own lane in teh staging lanes so that we can organise our own runs and also we get precedence ( our lane goes first etc).

We of course get to race side by side!

Sounds good! Run whatever you bring! as long as you identify yourself as a forum member it's all good!

Cheers!

keith1962 your car being standard you may have to temp. fit/zip tie a can or something for the radiator overflow, if you dont have one already or as i did just run the hose to the washer bottle. (things you do on the spot).
hopefully i can make it when you all go and ill get some footage for you all.

I would be up for it!!!! but it would have to be after the like 10th of dec, (im at skoolies!!!) i might actually have to balls if every one was there. What are the restriction/requirements to run?? safety gear??? the overflow thing is pretty much a given. but what else?

Check out WSID, they have all details there on what you need to race.

I wont be able to attend till mid january as the monaro isnt going to be running till then and i'm away over Xmas.

To book a lane as we discussed we need to let WSID know at LEAST a week in advance so get booked in.

Lets try and organise a night in January that people WOULD turn up.. Remember if we book this.. and no one shows.. its only going to make us look BAD!
