i was driving the other nite in the rain and found my diff to be boucing when i lost traction in the rear end..

what causes this?

ive heard the following..

too skinny tyres
not lowered
not enough air pressure
too much air pressure

what do you guys reckon, i know its a common problem. just dont know what i should do to combat it.

thanks.

worn shock absorbers or buggered bushes..if you have leaf springs i would have said spring wind up..but I'm guessing you drive a much more sofisticated car.

To check the bushes, stick a tyre lever in between the control arms and something else solid. Then try and move the arms away from the mount. If you succeed, they're stuffed.

To test shocks push down on the corner of the car you wish to test...get it bouncing ..then stop...it should come to rest inside 1.5 "oscillations"....You would ideally like it to stop at .5 to 1 bounce.
