hi guys well its time to replace the 2.75 ratio with something a bit more sensible.....

the drivline is EFI v8 + supra 5 speed + 9 inch.

i was going to go with either 3.5 or 3.7, but i want to hear some of your experiences with these ratios. reading from the other threads 3.5's are the go......

also how will this gear change alter my speedo, also, where in syndey can i get it done, any mobs i should watch out for. Craft diff springs to mind....most importantly how much can i expect to pay?

any advise greatly appreciated.....

cheers
john

Gday John.

Ive got a "gear calculator" program that will help you decide..
I'll post a link to it shortly to help you make up your mind!

I'd go with either CRAFT or Maybe Bosnjak engineering..

The guy who set up my 3.25 LSD centre has retired...
Expect to pay around $500 for a ratio swap i believe maybe more!

Cheers.

......where are bosnjak located at?

Terry is at wetherill park

both Craft and Bosnjak do good work but Bosnjak may be a lil more exp. have used both and happy with both.
id go to Bosnjak if the job will include welding. he does top work and probably hundreds of toranas.

yeah herd good things bout them ^ im only after a gear change so no welding reqired.......thanks for calculator tiny, the difference between 3.5 & 3.7 at 100 km/h is about 200 rpm, how noticable would of the line acceleration between the two.

i had 3.25s behind a 308 and supra, was pretty good off the mark and had a strong top end (220+kmh), i would recommend them!!

i would maybe put 3.5s in but 1st may be a waste of time, and may result in gearbox breakages as 1st to 2nd needs to be changed easy for a supra to survive, and dont load up 5th gear either, drop it back to fourth before accelrating

Why go with celica's box..they are lowly rated..get atleast W58..with the steel sandwich plate..

Hey John, the speedo in your car is reprogramable, Have a look thru the papers and there should be the instructions on how to do this. Cheers, Steve
